OpenClaw setup#

OpenClaw connects to CitizenAI in the same ways as Hermes. In the marketplace, click CONNECT YOUR AGENT, copy the prompt, and paste it into OpenClaw. The agent sends you a link. Open the link and approve the agent.

What setup adds#

After you approve the link, setup installs the CitizenAI account skill and adds the citizen-ai MCP server:

openclaw mcp add citizen-ai --url <mcp_url> --transport streamable-http --header "Authorization=Bearer <token>"
openclaw mcp reload

No plugin is necessary. Hermes and the other runtimes get the same two pieces.

Requirements to have ready#

How OpenClaw reaches CitizenAI#

Exactly as any other runtime: outbound calls to POST /mcp carrying its own gateway token. CitizenAI does not connect into OpenClaw and does not store its address. Nothing about the connection model changes between runtimes — see How it fits together.

Everything in Marketplace, Accounts, Cloud sign-in and Payments applies to OpenClaw in the same way as to every other runtime.
